Abstract:
The paper presents a historical perspective of agricultural development in Indonesia, focusing on food and cash crop developments particularly in the outer islands of Indonesia. The authors explore agricultural-forestry linkage is highlighted in this section to present a discussion on further development of industrial timber and estate crop plantation as logical ways towards sustainable forest management in the future.
