Andrew Sharpe
No 2019-07, CSLS Research Reports from Centre for the Study of Living Standards
Abstract:
This report presents technical background and estimates for the B.C. Prosperity Index, a composite measure of prosperity for British Columbia tracking socio-economic indicators related to living standards and economic well-being. The index compares B.C.'s performance with other Canadian provinces, OECD countries, and Pacific U.S. states on multiple domains including the business environment. The report discusses the methodology, selection of indicators, data sources, preliminary results, and comparisons with other composite indexes such as the Index of Economic Well-being and the Human Development Index.
