Abstract:
This article analyzes how the metaphorical identification of a human community with a living, functional organism is a key factor in transmitting the mode of operation into its unity and harmony. The metaphors of the “family†and “body,†some of which identified the primary church, helped to strengthen the internal and external perception of the church as a well-woven body and ensured its historical survival.
