Abstract:
The purpose of this paper is to discuss development and globalization and the challenge they pose when consumerism and endless economic growth are thoroughly pursued as economic doctrine. Issues such as social justice and poverty are also addressed, as well asthe role of faith communities in providingalternative models that affirm life, justice, and right relationships. It is argued that faith communities ought to be communities that liveout such alternatives.
