Abstract:
This paper presents a systematic review of the international literature on the factors contributing to successful economic diversification, which can serve as a basis for public policies and industrial strategies. By identifying, critically assessing, and synthesizing the most relevant and high-quality empirical studies on the topic, the paper identifies the key mechanisms for achieving productive diversification and enhancing economic growth at both national and regional levels. The main findings are discussed in relation to their applicability for regional implementation in Mexico.
