Abstract: Education expenditure has a significant role in the strengthening of the economy. Therefore, this kind of expenditure has great importance for both politicians and bureaucrats as well as society in general. In this study, the accuracy of the expenditure budget estimates which made by MoE for the period 1924-2012 was examined. For the assessment of accuracy we calculate forecast error, Theil’s inequality coefficient and test the forecast’s rationality. As a result we see that the estimations of initial allowances are under forecasted while the final allowances are over forecasted and final allowance estimates are more accurate than initial allowances.
