Çalışanların İş Güvencesizliği Algısı: Ebeveyn Olan ve Olmayan Çalışanlar Arasındaki Farklılıklar

Abstract: The present study explores the perceptional dimension of job insecurity and individual differences related to parenting responsibilities. Understanding the perceptual differences of job insecurity contributes the examination of its work and organization related outcomes. For this purpose, the data of this research were obtained from forty-two employees of a private energy company in Turkey. The twenty participants have parenting responsibilities and twenty-two don’t have. A semistructured interview was conducted with each employee, and the data were analyzed by content analysis. The obtained findings indicated that employees in the same organization, department, with the same job have different perceptions on job and on importance of job features, concerning to parenting responsibility. In addition, it has been observed that employees differ in the work outcomes (such as absenteeism, intention to leave work) related to job insecurity, depending on their parental status.Classification-JEL: J13, J28, J62Keywords: Job Insecurity, Parenthood, Job Demand-Control, Work Outcomes.Issue:26(37)
