Chapter Chapter 8 in Boko Haram’s Terrorism and the Nigerian State, 2019, pp 133-148 from Springer

Abstract: Abstract This chapter examines the activities of a few terrorist organizations and the response of one country, France, to terrorism. It focuses on the regions where terrorists operate and their origins, ideology and methods. These armed groups predate the emergence of Boko Haram and have survived despite the global war on terrorism. The chapter also examines the nature of the terrorist organizations active in France and the country’s counterterrorism efforts. The lessons learnt offer a template to the Nigerian government in its quest to rid Nigeria of terrorism.
