Abstract:
Abstract The rapid evolution of artificial intelligence (AI) technologies has exerted an increasingly significant influence on the restructuring of business models in the retail industry. Nevertheless, existing research in this domain remains relatively limited and leaves considerable gaps. This study focuses on the retail industry empowered by AI, adopting a mixed-method approach that integrates a systematic literature review with case analysis to explore innovation paths in business models and their future trajectories. The findings indicate that AI has penetrated deeply into supply chain management, consumer behavior analytics, and intelligent store operations. By examining representative enterprises such as Amazon, Alibaba, and Suning, the study extracts innovative patterns and critical success factors, identifies technological pain points, and proposes core pathways for leveraging AI to drive retail development, offering practical guidance for enterprises seeking to iterate their business models. The research demonstrates that AI has fundamentally reshaped retail models. Both leading and small-to-medium enterprises must adopt differentiated strategies. Future research should expand the case base, incorporate quantitative analysis, and track cutting-edge technologies to enhance universality and foresight.
