Abstract: Abstract This study focuses on the impact of digitization level on firms’ substantive green innovation capability, using data from Chinese A-share listed companies from 2013 to 2023. The results show that firms’ digitization level has a significant impact on substantive green innovation, and this finding remains valid after robustness and endogeneity tests. These findings provide new perspectives for understanding how digitization empowers firms’ green innovation and reveal the important role of media in this process.
