Abstract:
Abstract The concept of a blockchain and its applications within the business world has been a popular and widespread topic ever since the emergence of Bitcoin as a form of cryptocurrency. Properties of a blockchain such as information security, decentralization, and distributed ledger provide limitless opportunities for incorporation of blockchain technologies within various industries. This article seeks to demonstrate current applications of blockchain technologies in finance, sports, and supply chain management, while also exploring potential future applications. The findings from this paper show that blockchain applications have great potential to revolutionize current business models across various sectors by improving aspects such as security, efficiency, and transparency while also reducing costs.
