Abstract:
Abstract This paper investigates the impact of Technical Barriers to Trade (TBT) on China’s exports of refrigerated vegetables to the United States, utilizing the gravity trade model for analysis. With the rise of global economic integration, TBT has emerged as a significant non-tariff barrier, particularly affecting agricultural exports from China. The study reveals that while China’s GDP, exchange rate, and total exports to the U.S. positively influence refrigerated vegetable trade, the frequency of U.S. TBT notifications negatively impacts export volumes, significantly curbing profitability. The findings emphasize the challenges faced by Chinese exporters in navigating stringent food safety and technical standards. To enhance international competitiveness, the paper recommends improving product quality, strengthening international cooperation, and optimizing export strategies. The research provides a theoretical foundation for policymakers and practical guidance for enterprises, facilitating better strategies to overcome trade barriers and enhance China’s agricultural export potential in the global market.
