Abstract: Abstract This research aims to determine the development of electric vehicles in Indonesia, the impact of using electric vehicle, and explore how electric vehicle innovation can be a major driver in realizing a green economy and sustainable development in Indonesia. By understanding this role of innovation, it is expected to provide concrete recommendations for the development of effective policies and business strategies, so that Indonesia can move towards a more sustainable future. This research uses a qualitative descriptive method. Data collection techniques by means of literature studies. The result of this research indicate that electric vehicles have an important role in achieving a green economy and sustainable development in Indonesia. With the support from the government as well as the presidential regulation issued in 2019, the development of electric vehicles is getting more attention and has the impact of a significant increase. In terms of usefulness, electric vehicles can be a solution in the creation of environmental sustainability by reducing the level of air pollution caused by vehicle exhaust gases so as to reduce the greenhouse effect.
