Abstract:
Abstract This research examines the influence of entrepreneurial orientation on innovation performance with innovation capability as a mediating variable among owners or managers of culinary SMEs. This research involved 100 owners or managers of culinary SMEs who live in the city of Padang. These respondents were female and male with high school education up to a master’s degree. The data results were analyzed using the SEM PLS modeling technique via Smart PLS Version 4 using quantitative methods. The findings show that entrepreneurial orientation and innovation capability positively and significantly affect innovation performance. Innovation capability can mediate the relationship between entrepreneurial orientation and innovation performance. This research emphasizes the importance of owners or managers of food SMEs having a high entrepreneurial orientation to increase innovation capability which can encourage better innovation performance. This research contributes to the development of innovation carried out by SMEs and consideration of decision-making in taking risks and being proactive and innovative in improving innovation performance.
