A chapter in Proceedings of the International Conference on Multidisciplinary Research in Management and Economics (ICMRME 2025), 2025, pp 259-272 from Springer

Abstract: Abstract This article explores the crucial role of innovation-based entrepreneurship in promoting sustainability. It first defines innovative entrepreneurship as the creation of new solutions to unmet needs, and sustainability as the ability to meet present needs without compromising future generations. The article then examines the links between innovation and sustainability, highlighting technological solutions such as renewable energy and precision agriculture, as well as circular economic models such as reuse and sharing economy. A notable case study is that of Interface, a carpet manufacturer who has adopted a circular economy model, illustrating how companies can commit to sustainability by reducing waste and using recycled materials. Finally, the article addresses the challenges and opportunities of this entrepreneurship. Challenges include funding and regulations, while opportunities lie in the growing market for sustainable solutions and collaboration among stakeholders. In conclusion, the article highlights that innovative entrepreneurship is essential to achieving sustainability goals, creating both economic value and a sustainable future.
