Abstract:
Abstract This study aims to analyze the potential of sport tourism on the economy in Palembang City. Data collection techniques through observation, interviews, field studies and literature studies, where the research subjects involve policy makers, related sports authorities, business actors and the surrounding community. The research method used is descriptive using SWOT analysis. The results of the analysis show that the potential of sport tourism for economic growth is very large starting from the micro, small and medium business sector, the hotel sector, the tourism sector, and the availability of employment. Another opportunity is the right momentum to continue developing athletes and maintaining and improving achievements in existing events, and the success of this event makes Palembang a Sport Tourism city. This is an attraction in itself for national and international sporting events.
