Abstract: Abstract Over the last few decades, the world has seen a consistent and substantial shift toward greater globalization. This growing process encompasses more than just the trade of commodities and services; it also involves the increased cross-border mobility of capital, people, and ideas. Technology, knowledge, and cultural norms are now spreading faster and broader than ever before, altering communities and economies in both obvious and subtle ways. As globalization continues to pervade practically every element of contemporary life, it is critical to go beyond economic measures and ask a more fundamental question: how does globalization affect human welfare? In other words, are people’s lives, as measured by health, education, opportunity, and well-being, better as the world gets more interconnected? In this framework, we intend to investigate the complex consequences of globalization on the overall quality of life, while acknowledging that these effects may vary widely across locations and populations.
