Chapter Chapter 8 in Dynamic Models and Inequality, 2020, pp 175-179 from Springer
Abstract:
Abstract Economic inequality has already become one of the most burning issues throughout social sciences. Numerous effects that influence economic distribution are upon researchers’ closer inspection, but the role of market mechanism remains, paradoxically, quite overlooked. It is the more paradoxical when we realize that market as such embodies mechanisms that form the basis for creation and allocation of scarce resources in modern societies. The present book attempted to fill this knowledge gap and outlines how market principles can contribute to explaining current trends in economic inequality predominantly in developed countries.
