Abstract:
Abstract Many universities are promoting study abroad programs due to the life-changing experience of students being exposed to other cultures. Being comfortable in the global marketplace is also valuable for student success in the workplace. More and more, students in Business and Economics would like these experiences, so faculty are encouraged to develop and implement courses. This paper describes the Virginia Wesleyan University course Sports, Culture, and the Economy: Baseball in the Dominican Republic as an example for faculty considering a short-term study abroad course.
