Chapter Chapter 10 in Artificial Intelligence and Competition, 2023, pp 293-359 from Springer

Abstract: Abstract As the digital economy has grown, data has become a more valuable and significant resource. Knowledge-based technological competencies are appreciated as an imperative source of competitiveness for companies. The digital/platform economy is a system portrayed mainly by platforms, driven by AI technologies. Moreover, platform companies are currently ruled by humans via AI tools. Big Tech corporations with IPR monopolies have a large cash flow and consequently a large market capitalization relative to the asset base. Digital platforms facilitate efficient interactions between a supply side of producer users and a demand side of consumer users that create value in online and offline trade.
