Abstract:
Abstract The Chicago School project was justified in advancing the intention of a certain political-economic order, rather than simply an abstract commitment to an analytical framework. Under the “Harvard School” view, the courts and agencies accepted the illegality of any mergers, joint ventures, or agreements that allowed corporations to get, enhance, or exercise market power. The post-Chicago School relied on more complex forms of analysis, embracing game theoretic models of firm behavior enabling the identification of anticompetitive behavior. The New Brandeisians consider that the political economy is shaped only through “law and policy.”
