Chapter Chapter 2 in Quantum Technology for Economists, 2024, pp 11-36 from Springer

Abstract: Abstract This chapter provides an overview of concepts related to quantum computing and quantum financial technology that assume knowledge of linear algebra and statistics, but not of physics or computer science. The set of topics covered is intended to be as narrow as possible while still providing readers with a basis for understanding simple quantum algorithms and quantum money schemes. We will discuss how information is encoded in physical systems, how the states of such systems are represented mathematically, and what operations can be performed on them.
