A chapter in New Perspectives in the Public and Cultural Sectors, 2025, pp 301-309 from Springer
Abstract:
Abstract In this chapter we overview Ilde Rizzo’s research outcomes in the realm of transparency of public administration, especially at the local level. Public administrations have recently been required to engage in an active disclosure of information about their activities to improve the use of public resources, enhance citizens’ trust in public institutions, and foster accountability. Ilde Rizzo made several scientific contributions on this issue developing new measures of transparency and providing on empirical grounds a comprehensive analysis of the relation between transparency and civic capital, gender and performance and of the effect of transparency on political accountability.
