Chapter 2 in The Baltic Dry Index, 2026, pp 11-23 from Springer

Abstract: Abstract A time series is defined as a set of observations collected over fixed sampling intervals and ordered chronologically. Time series analysis can be defined as the study of these data to analyze aspects such as the behavior of the variable over time, its evolution, its dependencies with other variables, etc. Time series analysis is essential to understand the concepts and terminology that form the basis for financial analysis, modeling, and forecasting.
