Abstract: Abstract Topicality of the studied problem is predetermined by the fact that the issue of personnel training is a restraining factor of development of hotel industry. The purpose of the article is to determine directions for improvement of personnel training for hotel industry on the basis of professional standards. Within the scientific work “Formation of organizational and economic mechanism of creation of the national system of professional qualifications in the hospitality industry”, the authors develop the algorithm of the procedure of independent evaluation of professional qualifications. The authors of the article substantiate that creation of national and sectorial systems of professional qualification is a necessary condition of not only improvement of personnel training but of increase of labor efficiency and goods and services’ quality. The results of the research could be used in hospitality industry and in other sectors of economy of Russia and other countries.
