Abstract: Abstract The different failures and pitfalls of the specific German model presented in Chaps. 4 and 5 raise doubts about its feasibility and user friendliness. Nevertheless, the variety of opportunities for authorities and operators is a major advantage. When evaluating the international developments on introducing competition to the public transport services market, it becomes obvious that numerous different models to regulate the functioning of passenger transport markets have been developed and introduced. These models have been evaluated by van de Velde and Beck (2010), and the essay presented in this Chap. 6 is based on their findings.
