Chapter Chapter 14 in Impact Assessment for Developing Countries, 2022, pp 183-186 from Springer

Abstract: Abstract We show three examples to emphasize the importance of IA. One is the example of the Japanese Ministry of Health, Labor, and Welfare (MHLW), which only considers how influential stakeholders distort and fail to achieve the goal of regulation. Second is the Tokyo Metropolitan Government's study group on the ivory trade, in which the introduction of quantitative analysis is beneficial for future regulation making. The last one is my experience in Pakistan Regulatory reform, explaining the difficulty of changing person-specific ability to organizational ability to solve the issue in IA and regulation making.
