Chapter Chapter 2 in Sustainable Governance, 2023, pp 17-25 from Springer
Abstract:
Abstract In the following chapter, we delve into the rising influence of the Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) or sustainability agenda in the corporate world. We explore the principles and significance of the sustainability agenda and its transformative impact on businesses. As ESG challenges take center stage, we witness a new perspective emerging on corporate governance, driven by the principles of stakeholder theory. By examining the implications of this shift in governance perception, this chapter provides valuable insights into the evolving sustainable corporate governance paradigms, shaped by the integration of sustainability goals and stakeholder-centric approaches.
