Developing a Structural Model for Lifelong Music Learning Intention Among Chinese University Students

Abstract: Abstract Lifelong music learning is the key to the sustainable development of music education. Understanding students’ behavioral intention in lifelong music learning becomes a foundation for realizing students’ participation in lifelong music learning. University students’ lifelong music learning intentions are related to “past behavior,” “high-demanding parenting style,” “attitude,” “subjective norm,” and “perceived behavioral control.” This study is based on two theories, the theory of planned behavior and the parenting style theory, to propose a structural model for predicting Chinese university students’ behavior intention in lifelong music learning. Future research will employ quantitative methods and analyze this structural model using PLS-SEM. The results of this study are anticipated to benefit policymakers, educators, parents, and students.
