A chapter in Contemporary Sustainable Organisational Practices, 2024, pp 1-13 from Springer
Abstract:
Abstract This introductory chapter provides a succinct overview of key themes and concepts related to contemporary organisational sustainability practices. It highlights sustainability practices that organisations can adopt to enhance their operational efficiency, reduce their environmental impact and maximise social value creation. The summaries of the other 12 chapters within the book are presented, and the interconnected themes, pillars, and concepts are discussed. The chapter discusses the complex nature of sustainability challenges that organisations face in the modern world. It also provides discussion on how these challenges are not only multifaceted but are also intertwined with the economic, social, and environmental dimensions of their operations. Finally, the chapter highlights innovative sustainability solutions that this book recommends to organisations.
