Chapter Chapter 10 in Corporate Governance in Capital Markets, 2025, pp 237-256 from Springer

Abstract: Abstract This chapter discusses corporate governance in Spain, exploring the nuances of the country’s regulatory framework, including mandatory standards and voluntary guidelines, and their implications for the business environment. Based on a careful review of the academic literature and empirical data, we analyze how the high concentration of capital, transparency challenges, and protection of minority shareholders shape the evolution of the Spanish market. More than a descriptive overview, this chapter reflects on the opportunities and challenges that emerge from this context, contributing to the global debate on good governance practices.
