Chapter Chapter 10 in Managing Social Responsibility, 2018, pp 161-176 from Springer Abstract: Abstract In the face of numerous global challenges, such as natural or humanitarian crises, technological change or societal movements, business organizations must redefine their roles in society. As the indispensable component of society, they must collaborate with other organizations to confront with these challenges. By viewing it as a social innovation, CSR can provide a viable framework for building such a relationship between business and society and become the landscape for such collaborations towards the accomplishment of United Nations’ (UN) Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). It is clear that there are many ways of aligning social responsibility and SDGs and this chapter discusses how companies can contribute into some of these overarching goals.
