Abstract:
Abstract This is an interview with Rongfang Han, a family leader and mother of a Special Olympics athlete Jiyu Wang in Beijing. Han’s story indicates her positive attitude and perseverance towards life as a family leader. It reflects her capacity and vision to partner together with other parents to establish a Beijing Special Olympics family support network. Her efforts in her rehabilitation center for persons with intellectual and developmental disabilities indicate the dire needs for adults with disabilities to gain systematic support for rehabilitation and independent living.
