Abstract:
Abstract Renewable energy is not only a solution to environmental problems but also a guarantee for national energy security. Previous studies on the energy potential showed that Chile possesses large wave energy. To promote and support the implementation of wave energy sites, his study presents a multi-criteria decision-making (MCDM) framework to identify optimal locations for Wave Energy Sites in Chile. Focusing on the integration of Data Envelopment Analysis, Fuzzy Best-Worst Method, and Bonferroni Fuzzy Combined Compromise Solution, the research assesses sites based on technical viability, environmental impact, and socio-economic benefits. Results prioritize sites suitability, offering guidance for strategic investment and policy-making. The study confirms the effectiveness of MCDM in renewable energy site selection and suggests areas for further research, including the incorporation of dynamic market and environmental conditions.
