Abstract: Abstract This chapter highlights the characteristics of the conscientious citizen, who should have been the model of every Athenian. The chapter also presents the administrative division of the city-state of Athens into 139 demes (municipalities), as well as the duties of the mayors. Finally, it deals with the key elements a citizen of Athens should have been characterized of.
