Abstract: Abstract This chapter examines the recent evolution of economic history research in Mexico through a bibliometric analysis of 656 academic papers published between 1994 and 2021 in four Mexican journals, as well as presentations at the The Inter-Institutional Economic History Seminar (SIHE) in that country. The study identifies trends in thematic focus, co-authorship patterns, gender participation, and historical periods analyzed. It reveals a significant growth in publication volume since 2010. Research on the twentieth century has increased notably, while business history, fiscal history, and financial institutions have emerged as salient topics. In Mexico, the field remains predominantly housed in history departments, though interdisciplinary collaboration, especially with economists, is growing. A gender gap is observed, with decreasing female authorship over time. The study also highlights the increasing internationalization of Mexican economic history scholarship, with over half of the analyzed articles focusing on countries other than Mexico. The findings suggest that research output has become more collaborative and diversified in both topics and historical periods. This chapter contributes to understanding the institutional, thematic, and methodological development of economic history in Mexico and its role within broader Latin American and international academic contexts.
