Abstract: Abstract This article deals with basic questions about the selection of the appropriate technologies and suppliers to achieve the most efficient and environmentally friendly supply chain visibility. Available technologies are divided into active and passive tracking, and available communication technologies are briefly examined and evaluated. Furthermore, positioning technologies and various sensors are explained, and possible applications are presented.
