Chapter 3 in Understanding Cybersecurity Management in FinTech, 2021, pp 35-64 from Springer
Abstract:
Abstract This chapter introduces information security governance, various policies and standards used to profile information security governance, and available security governance models. It provides insight into the roles and responsibilities of individuals working at top-, middle-, and lower-level management. A security governance framework has two primary activities: directing and controlling. Directing is a top-down approach initiated by the board of directors and executives (top-level management) and followed by the middle- and lower-level management personnel. On the contrary, controlling is a bottom-up approach that includes daily operations performed by the lower-level management to work upon the directions provided by the top management. The chapter further presents an integrated framework for information security governance. Based on the integrated security governance framework, a general information security governance framework for FinTech is proposed that consists of important domains, components, individuals, their activities, and outcomes.
