A Recap of the Three-Pillar Model and Its Importance for the Book’s Objectives
Peter Wollmann ()
Chapter 2 in The Sustainable Organization, 2025, pp 23-32 from Springer
Abstract:
Abstract This chapter is both a recap of the Three-Pillar Model introduced in several books before and a tailored reference and adoption to the topics of the current book. The underlying question is how the model can be used and applied to support an organization on reaching coverage of sustainability demands and the UN SDGs (United Nations Strategic Development Goals, see: https://sdgs.un.org/goals ). In other words, in this chapter, we try to connect an organization’s own means to achieve sustainability and to cover (some of) the UN SDGs with the capabilities demanded by the Three-Pillar Model.
