A chapter in Resilient Business Models, 2025, pp 187-197 from Springer
Abstract:
Abstract This case study examines the case of Comprof Milano, an Italian multi-brand company in the beauty-care industry, as a model of resilience and strategic innovation in the face of global challenges. Since its founding in 1995, Comprof has transformed its business model from a niche distributor of professional trichological products into a diversified enterprise with a portfolio of 16 independent brands, each targeting distinct consumer segments. The company’s strategic use of brand and range management has enabled it to navigate market volatility, adapt to shifting consumer preferences, and reduce commercial risk. Central to Comprof’s resilience is its commitment to education and digital transformation, exemplified by the Comprof Academy—a global platform offering technical, managerial, and motivational training. The case also highlights Comprof’s proactive approach to sustainability, aligned with the United Nations 2030 Agenda, particularly in promoting gender equality, responsible consumption, and community engagement. Through continuous innovation, agile rebranding, and purpose-driven values, Comprof offers a compelling case of how businesses can evolve resilient models that not only withstand disruption but actively contribute to building a more sustainable future.
