A chapter in Diversify or Die, 2026, pp 215-222 from Springer

Abstract: Abstract In this chapter, the authors explore how Eintracht Frankfurt has positioned itself as a digitally driven, forward-thinking football club through a comprehensive diversification strategy. Moving beyond its core sporting activities, the club has pursued international expansion, invested in youth and women's football, and brought stadium operations in-house to strengthen control and efficiency. A cornerstone of this approach is the creation of a wholly owned tech subsidiary, which consolidates strategic digital initiatives and drives the development of innovative business models. By integrating technology at the heart of its operations, Eintracht Frankfurt demonstrates how football organizations can achieve sustainable growth and long-term competitive advantage through diversification.
