Humans and the Self-Driving Organization

Chapter 7 in The Self-Driving Company, 2023, pp 119-127 from Springer
Abstract:
Abstract The primary motivation behind my vision of the self-driving company is to empower people in businesses and organizations. People need to be freed from technically nonsensical and endlessly boring repetitive work. People should be employed according to their passion and their abilities and in this way find enjoyment in their work. Repetitive and highly analytical work must be done by software algorithms because software makes fewer mistakes and does not grow tired and apathetic. Finally, work must be financially rewarding for each and every employee—and, on the flip side, businesses must be highly efficient and profitable in order to succeed internationally in a multipolar world. Only then can they pay above-average compensation for valuable human labor. This chapter looks at the self-driving company from the perspective of employees. The different effects on the life cycle in the company, the daily work routine, and the legal framework are described on the basis of different roles.
