Abstract: Abstract Using the framework discussed in the previous chapter, we can reach some preliminary outcomes regarding which metrics are meaningful in quantisfying the success of technology transfer. Hence, a case study may be considered in general terms as a “performance metric”, because it offers a common context or frame of reference, so as to make significant comparisons instead of attempting to adapt the dubiousness and indecision internal to the intangibles of technology transfer and commercialization in the restricted mould of econometric models. This chapter provides a systematic case study development and analysis approach which can define the basis for detecting and summarizing key facilitating and impeding factors which can finally cause market success or failure. These factors enable us to connect market success or failure to the key drivers of the technology transfer and commercialization process and therefore allow us to effectively readdress the above mentioned process.
