Chapter Chapter 3 in Producing Green Knowledge and Innovation, 2022, pp 41-54 from Springer
Abstract:
Abstract Neoclassical economic models do not fundamentally support sustainability. They argue that a decrease in natural resources is offset by the increased capital produced by the economy in the never-ending growth. However, the knowledge-based economies of neoclassical economic models can bridge the gap by ethical human capital produced by universities with the Quintuple Helix innovation model. The helix called the natural system of society, the foundation for all other helices, enables universities to produce ethical human capital. The ethical human capital built with natural capital blends with other helices and produces ethical economic capital, ethical information and social capital, and ethical-political and legal capital.
