Chapter Chapter 4 in Producing Green Knowledge and Innovation, 2022, pp 55-63 from Springer
Abstract:
Abstract When considering the structure of universities as organizations, neo-institutionalism argues that the organizational structures are isomorphic in their organization field. Their practices embrace myths and ceremonies adopted by organizations not because they are effective but because they give a sheen of legitimacy to universities. However, neo-institutionalism later focused on proactive and reactive change management to adopt the environment’s dynamics. Consequently, changing organizational logic prompts the leadership to transform management for producing green knowledge and innovation needed for sustainable development.
