Abstract:
Abstract This study aims to identify the problems and features in the valuation technique of e-commerce companies. The research methods we used are induction, deduction, synthesis, comparison, and generalization. In the study, we obtained the following results: (1) analysis of approaches and methods for evaluating e-commerce companies and (2) justification of prerequisites, identification of underlying problems, and development of a technique for evaluating e-commerce companies within the income approach. The scientific novelty of the research results is as follows. The peculiarities of e-commerce and e-commerce companies necessitate the adaptation of methods for evaluating companies and developing techniques for evaluating e-commerce companies within the income approach. The research objectives are the following: (1) trend analysis of e-commerce; (2) identification of e-commerce companies as objects of valuation; (3) identification of features and pricing factors for e-commerce companies; (4) analysis and adaptation of methods for evaluating business to the valuation of e-commerce companies; (5) development of a technique for evaluating e-commerce companies within the method of discounted cash flows; and (6) development of the formula for calculating the value of e-commerce companies within the income approach and the formula for coordinating the results from applying different forecast scenarios. The research contributes to science by developing methods for business valuation and methods for fair valuation of corporation equity in corporate finance for e-commerce companies.
