Chapter Chapter 8 in Technology Development, 2014, pp 163-172 from Springer
Abstract:
Abstract This paper reviews a completed product development project at a semiconductor manufacturing firm. The data gathered is organized using a Risk Categorization Framework and Behavior Model. Key questions explored include the unpredictable nature of R&D as related to semiconductor manufacturing and the manner in which risk can be better managed in an R&D setting. The research was accomplished through an action research methodology. The researchers have been a part of the development team for over 2 years starting with the planning of the product and ending with the launch of the product. A post launch process helped gather the final data used in this paper
