Abstract: Abstract Hundreds of millions are involved in business creation in every part of the world. The Global Entrepreneurship Monitor research program makes clear that participation varies dramatically, from 2/100 adults to over 40/100; most countries have a substantial number of individuals involved (Bosma, Jones, Autio, & Levie, 2008). But individuals pursue firm creation with a wide variation in personal characteristics, social and family contexts, educational and work experiences, support from community and social networks, economic and political structures as well as cultural milieu
