Abstract: Abstract Despite some countervailing effects of a shift from the CA to the OA model—which have to be taken into account closely in the process of reconceptualizing the predominant business model in academic publishing—there is one important conclusion from our analysis and the overall research on this intriguing topic: Open access should be the future of academic publishing (Finch 2012).
