Abstract:
Abstract Digital technologies, including big data and artificial intelligence, are profoundly transforming entrepreneurial activities on a global scale. However, research studies on the influence of digital technologies on entrepreneurship activities are limited. For this purpose, the present study examines the linkage between information and communication technology (ICT), internet, research and development (R&D), the researchers in R&D, established businesses, economic growth, financial risk, and digital entrepreneurship. The results suggest that established businesses, economic growth, and internet have a positive influence on digital entrepreneurship in OECD economies. Additionally, researchers in R&D substantially enhance entrepreneurship, highlighting the important role of innovation in the development of digital entrepreneurial enterprises. In contrast, financial risks and ICT have a negative impact on technological entrepreneurship. Interestingly, the negative impact of ICT exports and government spending in R&D highlights the structures and export-driven models in OECD economies.
